Eugenio Dávila Garza joined Santos Elizondo, S.C. in 2021. His practice focuses on corporate and transactional law, including mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment, wealth and succession planning, banking and finance law, as well as legal matters related to Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) criteria.
He has experience representing both domestic and international clients in purchase and sale agreements, financing, private equity and venture capital investments, and in structuring investment vehicles and estate succession. He has advised buyers and sellers, as well as creditors and debtors, ranging from startups to investment funds and strategic corporate clients.
Additionally, he has advised various international clients on the legal and regulatory structuring for the establishment and expansion of their operations in Mexico, including entity formation, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and other local strategic needs.
During the 2023–2024 period, he completed a Master of Laws (LL.M.) at New York University (NYU School of Law), specializing in Corporate Law. Subsequently, he served as a Global Visiting Lawyer in the New York office of Covington & Burling LLP, collaborating with the corporate and transactional team focused on Latin America.
Prior to joining Santos Elizondo, Eugenio worked at other law firms, participating in complex corporate and financial transactions, as well as in corporate governance and securities regulatory compliance matters.
Among the notable transactions in which he has participated are:
- The sale of an industrial conglomerate's water heater and fluid handling business to a foreign company.
- Advising a foreign private equity fund on the granting of various financings to Mexican companies.
- Advising entrepreneurs and startups on the structuring of their pre-seed and Series A capital-raising rounds.
- Advising search funds on multiple acquisitions in Mexico as part of their expansion processes.
- Advising a pharmaceutical company on the divestment of its operations in Mexico.
