Luis Alonso Mendoza Garza




Mr. Mendoza Garza has been a partner at Santos Elizondo since 1988. For more than 30 years, his practice has focused mainly on civil, business, criminal, administrative and family litigation. Additionally, he has participated in matters involving various types of business transactions and, in general, legal advice in corporate matters.

Some of the clients he has represented are Alfa, FEMSA, Arca Continental, TV Azteca, Tecnocom, La Mosa, Thomas & Betts, New Process Steel y Praxair. [Disex, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Acosta Verde, Enertec, S. De R.L. de C.V., SuKarne, Pinturas Doal, Servicios de Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey, Ari-masa, S.A. de C.V.] and has successfully participated as a legal advisor in a large number of highly relevant disputes in Nuevo León and Mexico. In 2010, the Nuevo Leon Bar Association granted Mr. Mendoza Garza recognition on the occasion of the celebration of the Lawyer’s Day. In 2012, the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon granted recognition to him for his excellence in professional development. Recently, Mr. Mendoza Garza was recognized as a leader in the area of litigation practice in Mexico by the prestigious international publication Chambers & Partners.

From 1984 to 1987, Mr. Mendoza Garza served as Head of the Legal Department of the Tourism area and later, in the area of Financing in Grupo Protexa. From 1987 to 1988, he held the position of Manager of the Drilling, Marine Works and Construction Area of Grupo Protexa. Mr. Mendoza Garza has been a member of the councils of institutions such as Coparmex Nuevo León, Agua y Drenaje de Monterrey and the Chipinque Ecological Park, as well as a member of the Nuevo Leon Bar Association and the Mexican Bar Association.

Mr. Mendoza Garza obtained Law Degree from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon in 1979. Subsequently, he completed a master’s and PhD in Public Finance in the year of 1984, in the Law School from the University of Paris. In 1986, Mr. Mendoza Garza graduated from a Master’s in Comparative Law from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
